Education & Training

Offered in the classroom and via a learning management system, OHUB’s education and training products provide would be technologists and entrepreneurs with the knowledge and expertise they’ll require to navigate the innovation economy – past, present & future.

CodeStart

The initiative is anchored by a 12-month innovative customized immersive training program, with a curriculum focused on coding (software development), career readiness, financial responsibility, culture fit, corporate innovation and entrepreneurship. The young adult training serve 15 youth, ages 18-29, with at least a high school degree/GED that demonstrate barriers to long-term, in-demand employment and entrepreneurial opportunities on an annual basis.

This full, immersive coding and entrepreneurship school will require participants to live in school-sponsored housing for the full length of the program as well as participate in counseling and therapy sessions with a licensed therapist. Both instructors and mentors will prepare students for a career as a professional junior-level programmer, software engineer, “intrepreneur” and entrepreneur.

The program goes beyond tactical skills and teaches students how to think like a software engineer and innovator, where students also receive training in the areas of ideation, design thinking, business model generation, financial responsibility, diversity, inclusion and career readiness.

As a successful training program and via an income sharing initiative, Opportunity Hub is able to replicate the program with additional cohorts, creating a steady stream of well-trained entry-level software developers who not only have the hard and soft skills to obtain high-paying jobs in the tech industry that will make them good employees and put them on a successful life and career pathway, but also the hard “innovative,” “intrepreneurial” and entrepreneurial skills to start a high growth businesses which may go on to provide services back to the companies they worked for or supply products and services they create and sell to government and business as minority suppliers.

OHUB is projecting $250,000 per year per college or university for access to the curriculum, virtual mentor support and a full-time instructor.

College Level Curriculum

In addition to CodeStart, we have our college level textbook and course on inclusive innovation, entrepreneurship and investment.

This product aims to disrupt the one-sided pattern matching farce that occurs throughout the tech, startup and venture ecosystem while simultaneously encouraging socially and economically disadvantaged minorities to build, invest or work at companies that are disrupting the industries of the future.

Instructionally designed by Wisewire, a global leader in problem based learning curriculum development for publishers such as Pearson and McGraw Hill, a student’s ability to complete the course with proficiency has the potential to become the vetting badge for accelerators, incubators and early stage investors to accept these entrepreneurs into their programs.

Beyond these programs, students who complete the course will possess the knowledge required to effectively navigate the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

OHUB projects a market price of $99-199 for the textbook and $499-999 for the course.
